What does retirement mean to you? What do you fear most?

Intro and Redefining Retirement

Replacing Work – Living with Intention

Pitfalls vs Best Practices for Healthy Happy Retirement

Connections the Support Retirement Wellness

At the end of my career, I was a Certified Retirement Coach, I did workplace workshops, (primarily for Municipal Employees) and for the general public and coached pre-retirees and retirees. I have coached 100’s of people in this transition. A wrote and published a book for the +50 demographic. My intention in offering this series is to provide a moderated venue for people to explore and discuss all aspects of their retirement plan. I am NOT looking for clients. I am doing this as a contribution to making the world a better place. It is about me sharing my knowledge and about giving you an opportunity to talk with others in this life stage.

FORMAT: This will be an informal discussion group. I have a Degree in Adult Education and adhere to the principles of Adult Education – that is all people have knowledge and value. I will start the conversation with a brief talk, but the rest of the time it will be a discussion where various points of view will be shared and discussed in a respectful manner. The purpose is to explore ideas, stimulate thought, and encourage participants to life their dreams.

CAVEAT – this is not a financial planning series and my book is NOT a financial planning book. If we decide to add a financial discussion, it will not be done by me, as I do not have that expertise. The decision to add that will take place at the last event. PLEASE commit to attending all four sessions, as it helps build community within the group.

SUMMARY of SESSIONS

Intro and Redefining Retirement

Historically retirement has been an event and is described as not working. This is no longer an accurate way to define retirement. Let’s explore three stages of retirement and discuss how these fit into your life and retirement plan. In this session we will debunk theories about retirement and establish a new approach to how we define retirement.

Replacing Work – Living with Intention

Most of us go through 40 or 50 years of defining our lives by our career. Failure to plan to replace the 35+ hours a week you have worked for decades is problematic. It can result into a meaningless minutia morphing to consume your time, leaving you feeling frustrated, or unfulfilled.

Pitfalls vs Best Practices for Healthy Happy Retirement

There are certain pitfalls that can sabotage your health, your finances and your well-being. What are they? And, what are the Best Practices that result in the best quality of life, regardless of your health or your wealth. What can you affect and what contingency plans do you need in place?

Connections and Effectively Managing Change

What networks do you have in place to improve your retirement outcomes? Your social connections are an important factor in your retirement success. Let’s discuss 50’s and Beyond supports and strengthens your life before, during and after you leave your career.

REGISTRATION: There is no discount or refund for partial attendance. To get the most out of it attending all four sessions is highly recommended. DO NOT RESERVE SPOTS: Send your E transfer to the email address provided when you register, upon your RSVP. EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT ENDS at NOON Jan 15. Registration ends: Jan 22.
