Join us for a guided walk as we tell the story of Studland during the early years of WWII. After the evacuation of Dunkirk in July 1940, it was thought that Studland Bay, with its shallow seas and sandy beaches, was a prime location for a German invasion.Join us as we look at maps and photographs from the War Department detailing the location of the anti-invasion defences installed during 1940. We explore the heath visiting the ruins of an anti-tank ditch, a pill box and other structures so evocative of Studland's part in the defence of Britain during those early years of the war.
Recommended minimum age: 14. U18s accompanied by an adult.
The walk is approximately 2.5km, on soft sand with 2 to 3 inclines.
