About this Event
Looking to discover Belfast in a relaxed and engaging way?
Join a small-group walking tour led by a French local who chose to settle in Northern Ireland and has been living here for several years.
This tour offers a slightly different perspective: not just what Belfast is, but how it feels to arrive here, understand it, and make sense of its history and culture from the outside.
Rather than a traditional, lecture-style historical tour, this is a friendly and interactive walk combining key elements of Belfast’s past with a more personal and accessible approach to life in the city today.
During the walk, we’ll explore different parts of the city centre, including:
• Belfast City Hall
• The Cathedral Quarter
• The River Lagan waterfront
We’ll talk about:
• The main stages of Belfast and Northern Ireland’s history
• The context of the Troubles and their impact today
• What often surprises visitors when they arrive in Belfast
• Life in Belfast today
• Cultural differences between Northern Ireland and France
• My personal experience of choosing to live here
⚠️ This tour takes place in the city centre. We will not visit areas such as Shankill or Falls Road, which are usually covered in dedicated tours (often by taxi). However, I will give you the context to understand their significance.
I will also share local recommendations (cafés, pubs, places to visit) to help you make the most of your stay.
