Disabled Memory-ing : Creative Workshop with Ink Asher Hemp

Join art worker Ink Asher Hemp for a workshop that makes space for disabled memory - using pictures and words to collage our musings, our world making, and caring.

When: Saturday February 21st, 1:30 - 4:30pm

Where: Southside Community Centre, 117 Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9ER

Who: Ages 18 - 30 , *This opportunity is aimed towards disabled and neurodivergent climate activists, disabled and neurodivergent people, and climate activists whose understanding of what they do has been influenced/shaped by disabled activists/disability justice. *

What to expect:

As part of Creating solidarities and eradicating silences: The Disabled Climate Justice Archive Project, 'Disabled Memory-ing' is the second in a series of four creative workshops that use storytelling approaches to explore disabled and neurodivergent knowledge, history and lived experience of climate change and activism across Scotland.

As part of YFOES work to develop and build a shared vision of solidarity for the future, this project aims to promote and build communities of solidarity between disabled people and their allies and tackle archival ‘silences’ and marginalisation of disabled communities.

After Ink's workshop, participants are invited to document their creative work (anonymously) to be included in an archive contributing to the preservation of our stories for and by our community - leaving evidence of our joy and our rage, the worlds we’re building and dismantling, through the care we offer to ourselves and each other.
