About this Event
This interactive series is designed especially for people with Type-2 diabetes, but open to those with pre-diabetes and/or caregivers of those with diabetes. You will learn practical strategies for managing Type-2 diabetes, including meal planning, label reading, portion sizes, carbohydrate counting, and healthy cooking methods. Classes include food demonstrations and samples of delicious, diabetic-friendly recipes.
Sessions will be held weekly on Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30am, beginning July 8th and ending July 29th, 2026.
Session 1: Living Well with Diabetes
Session 2: Carbohydrates & Nonnutritive Sweeteners
Session 3: Heart Health, Fats & Sodium
Session 4: Vitamins, Minerals, Fiber, & Putting it All Together
Classes will be taught by Family & Consumer Sciences Extension Agent and Registered Dietitian Amy Mullins, PhD, RD.
