Heat Four closes out the preliminary rounds of the Ding Dong Lounge Band Competition 2025. With only two semi-final slots left, the pressure is real—and the performances will reflect it. Expect genre collisions, underdog energy, and sets that swing for the fences.Anacrusia (Progressive Rock / Latin Jazz / Metal / Art Rock)
Anacrusia fuse progressive rock with Latin jazz, flamenco, metal, and art rock—creating a daring balance of rhythm and fire. Their sound blends intricate polyrhythms, searing guitar lines, and atmospheric riffs into immersive, theatrical live shows. Fans of Mastodon, Opeth, Tool, and Paco de Lucía will find echoes here, but Anacrusia stand apart with a voice entirely their own.
Master Frank Fu (Kung Fu Metal)
The world’s first Kung Fu Metal band, Master Frank Fu blends Eastern instruments and melodies with Western distortion and blast beats. Lyrics in Mandarin and English tell mythic stories through soaring erhu, thunderous double kicks, and explosive stagecraft. This is discipline through distortion... precise, powerful, and unforgettable.
Sincere Sapling (Rock / Punk / Emo)
Sincere Sapling break survivor’s silence with gritty, emotionally charged rock. Serena (vocals), Jesse (drums), Taygen (guitar), and Luca (bass) channel early 2000s emo and punk while pushing the boundaries of alternative rock. Their debut album Anoxic and explosive live shows have earned them a reputation across Tāmaki Makaurau.
Noah Nite (Indie Rock / Punk / Alternative)
Noah, Ryan, and Thom make a lotta noise for a three-piece. Drawing from the Pixies, The Strokes, and Arctic Monkeys, Noah Nite deliver anthemic songwriting, catchy riffs, and dynamic live energy. Their self-titled debut EP dropped this year, with more fresh tracks on the way.
Fleeting Thought (Rock / Jazz / Funk / Hip Hop / Latin)
Born from Ding Dong jam nights, Fleeting Thought are a fully improvisational band that transcend traditional jams through real-time songwriting. Their sound mixes rock, funk, hip hop, and Latin rhythms—fluid, unpredictable, and always in the moment.
Doors open at 8PM, first band hits at 8:30PM. Early bird presales are $10, general admission presales are $20, and door sales are $25 if presales don’t sell out. R18. Whether you’re in the pit or posted up at the bar, Heat Four is your last chance to catch the comp before it levels up.
