Digital Dilemmas: Ethics Beyond the Algorithm
Artificial intelligence is a double-edged sword, offering immense potential for societal good while raising profound ethical concerns. In this masterclass, we will explore the dual role of AI and focus on the Ship of Theseus, a philosophical dilemma that questions identity and continuity: if all parts of a ship are replaced, is it still the same ship? Drawing parallels to AI systems that evolve through updates and learning, we will examine how these changes challenge ethical accountability and consistency. This session invites participants to critically reflect on the values we encode into AI and their role in shaping our collective future.
