With Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead quickly approaching, VVormking is proud to announce our return to the stage again for this year’s sacred holiday. We hope to make this a lasting tradition—VVK rising every year on Día de los Muertos to honor the dead. This time we’ve secured a new venue for the event, The Rah! Rah! Room, and gathered a sick lineup to pay tribute.Headlining the evening is Necro Blade, marking their first San Antonio appearance and final show of the year as they celebrate the 2024 release of their debut EP Death Awaits. Frontman Joe Necro, formerly of SA’s own war metal titans Morbosidad and Houston’s legendary death metal outfit Blaspherian, leads the band before they retreat to the studio to forge their next album. The show’s flyer bears artwork from San Antonio’s own oldschool death depicting artist Necrogoat, drawn for the Death Awaits release.
Also appearing is God Butcher, San Antonio’s brutal technical death metal giants. Since dropping their debut EP Neurosis in 2023 and unleashing three more punishing singles this year, they’ve been a relentless presence across Texas stages—each set more explosive than the last. For anyone who longs for the precision and chaos once ruled by Necrophagist, Animosity, and Pig Destroyer, God Butcher now takes the reign.
Rounding out the night is Demonic Knights, San Antonio’s longest-running traditional black metal band. Since 2015 they have kept San Antonio’s black metal flame alive and now move toward the release of their first full length album.
VVormking will join these acts as we draw closer to releasing our own debut EP, sealing this gathering as an evening that honors the departed, embraces the living, and stands at the edge where remembrance and shadow meet. Join us November 1st | 7pm | $10 | The Rah! Rah! Room
