Join the Sprouts Youth Garden Club for their drive-through recycling event. Open to all households. See flyer and list below for details on acceptable items.
Happy Spring Cleaning Season!!
Registration is NOT required however if you "get a ticket" here on Eventbrite you will receive reminder emails so that you can be sure to remember to empty your household of these items!
Bring your items to St. John Lutheran Church parking lot. Please enter at the south entrance and wait for guidance. Please do not exit your car. Volunteers will retrieve acceptable items for you.
Be sure to note acceptable items collected by various organizations:
Batteries: One time use (A, AA, ETC.) & rechargeable batteries. Please bring batteries in sealed clear plastic bags (such as Ziploc) Read more about the new IL Battery Law here.
Athletic shoes: Shoes must be paired and tied together. NO dress shoes, heels, sandals, wedges, water socks, rain boots, crocs, and other non-athletic styles. Please visit link for details on acceptable athletic shoes.

Books (Paperback, Hard cover, Novels, Textbooks, Children’s books, etc.)
Records
Musical Instruments
Holiday lights
Bread tags (plastic clip on bread bags)
Brita filters & pitchers (only Brita Brand)
Ink Jet cartridges (only household, cartridges. No toner)
Smoke detectors
Bibles and Religious Items
Bikes, Bike Repair Tools, Tire Pumps, Bike Accessories (Baskets, Helmets, etc.)
Medical equipment such as walkers, crutches, canes, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators and oxygen supplies (i.e. nasal cannulas and masks)
Other Items: Eye glasses, Hearing aids, Household Keys, Cell Phones
American flags

All plastic must be clean, dry and free of food residue.

•Degradable/compostable bags or film packaging
•Pre-washed salad mix bags

•Hot dog or meat wrap packaging
•PPE- Gloves, masks, or protective wear
•Pool covers
•Lamination Film
•Silage and hay bags
•Backyard ice rinks
•Vinyl shower curtains or tablecloths
•Bedding or linen packaging
•Shiny, crinkly films like floral wrap
