About this Event
Trees and shrubs are the backbones of a well-landscaped garden. Their shapes, colors, flowers, and fruits change with the seasons, providing beauty throughout the year.
Gail Sanders, a Master Gardener with the DuPage County University of Illinois Extension, will present the program. Gail will talk about how to select the proper trees and shrubs for specific sites, including selecting plants native to our area.

Gail Sanders was raised in DuPage County and has been gardening since she was a child. Her mother was in charge of the flower beds, and her dad did the vegetables. Gail and her brothers got to W**d everything.
A Master Gardener since 2013, over the years, Gail has been active in many different gardening projects and provided service to our community by volunteering at sites including the DuPage County Care Center, the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association, and as a past leader of the MG team that maintains the gardens at Kline Creek Farm. Gail also shares her knowledge on many gardening subjects by giving tours of gardens at Cantigny Park and The Gardens at Ball Horticultural Co. and gives presentations to the public through the DuPage County MG Speakers Program. In 2022, the University of Illinois Extension honored Gail by naming her the DuPage County Master Gardener (MG) of the Year.
