About this Event
If you are a professional involved in the assessment and delivery of the DFG, then the DFG Children Summit 2024 is the event to attend to positively impact your role, the sector, and children with complex needs.
The sector faces increasing adversity while meeting the complexity of children's needs alongside soaring adaptation costs. If we don't act now, these difficulties will become unsustainable for an already over-stretched workforce.
Through lived-experience evidence, expert talks and facilitated workshops, you will strategise against the adversity with other dedicated professionals in the following areas:
- Expectations - explore the different expectations of the DFG and how we can better manage them.
- Funding - assess the availability of financial resources and how they can be better integrated against the increased costs of delivering complex adaptations for children.
- Future-proofing - consider how the current needs of a disabled child may differ from their future needs and what design and construction approaches are needed to support this better.
- Innovation - discuss the role of technology, such as assistive technology (AT) and artificial intelligence (AI), to analyse how its inclusion could improve DFG delivery for children with complex needs.
The DFG Assessment Summit in 2023 proved to be a resounding success. The energy was infectious, as attendees recognised the pioneering pursuit of the day through cross-sector collaboration.
Since then, we have been developing sector-informed assessment frameworks and continuing discussions on governance and support with stakeholder organisations.
We are keen to continue feeding the fire as we return to Birmingham to host the DFG Children Summit for 2024.
