About this Event
This event is hosted by Houston Durgabari Society in collaboration with Indian History Awareness and Research (IHAR) and the Nonprofit, Self Enquiry Life Fellowship (Hansavedas).
Who was Durga? Is Sati known as the Shakti? What is the role of Parvati? Did the Lord of Time, Shiva, discourse about Durga’s valour to Parvati? What are the significances of Devi Mantra?
Listen to chosen words of wisdom and techniques of Devi-Upasana or Divine Mother Durga Worship from an adept Himalayan monk, HH Swami Vidyadhishananda.
This inspirational talk will explore the essence of worship and devotion to the Divine Mother in her powerful form as Durga, who embodies strength, protection, and motherly love.
By using his own experience of siddhi (mantra success) and based on traditional Sanskrit teachings, His Holiness will illuminate how Devi Upasana—especially the practice of mantra sadhana (meditation using Devi mantra)—can deepen one’s: personal relationship with God, motherhood, and motherland; and build one’s inner strength, valour, and resilience.
The discourse will highlight how meditation on Durga’s energy and form invites grace and transformation, helping us to overcome inner obstacles and renew our connection to indigenous traditional wisdom.
