About this Event

Kingston Council and Kingston University (KU), in partnership with Kingston Chamber of Commerce, invites all businesses in and around the borough, and local residents, to join our event on circular and regenerative economy.

Building on previous Think Green discussions, academic research and successful local case studies, we are bringing together at the Town House, businesses, academics, policy makers, students and residents to show the triple positive impact of shifting to a circular economy: on businesses, the consumers and the planet. The Earth’s resources are limited, the population is growing and commodity prices have increased considerably over the last 20 years. The environmental and financial costs of disposing of waste are substantial.

The solution is to move from our linear ‘take-make-dispose’ economic model, to a circular economy. An economy where waste is eliminated; a zero-waste, regenerative economy.

Exhibitors:

  • Cardo Group: Trialling new and innovative partnerships with local micro businesses to resell furniture destined for landfill.
  • Just Clear: A sustainable, award-winning, clearance service, committed to ensuring as many items as possible are reused and recycled locally in a transparent way.
  • KAPDAA: A 360 degree solution for the borough's garment waste.
  • Relove Technology Limited: Supporting local businesses to sign up to the Government's IT 'Reuse for Good Charter' and helping to close the digital divide in our communities.
  • Save The World Club: Promoting "The Circulatory" warehouse, which is a circular economy hub along with their offer to the public, public sector, charitable sector and business sector in Kingston upon Thames.
  • Veolia in Partnership with Kingston Council: Showcasing green careers and helping people to recycle more and waste less.
