What captures a child’s imagination? What makes them want to explore, touch, move and wonder? And how can design speak to both young audiences and the adults who accompany them?
As part of Melbourne Design Week 2026, join noted designers Daniel To and Emma Aiston of design studio DANIEL EMMA for a conversation around dreaming, designing and bringing to life exhibitions for children, hosted by Kate Ryan, NGV Curator of Children’s Programs.

Daniel Emma Studio
Daniel Emma is an Adelaide based design studio established by Danial To and Emma Aiston. Their studio works on a large variety of projects ranging from desk objects to installations and major projects such as the NGV’s 2023 children’s exhibition, Up Down and All Around | Daniel Emma for Kids. They look to create the unexpected from simple objects, drawing influence and insight from the diverse culture that Australia presents us with.
