About this Event
Irish universities each offer distinct doctoral training environments yet IS PhD students across the country share a common need: rigorous, high-quality preparation for conducting impactful research that addresses real-world challenges.
This in-person round table discussion intends to bring together IS faculty and researchers from all Irish universities to explore the design of a joint course tailored specifically to IS doctoral students. The session will focus on defining the scope and learning outcomes of such a course, identifying mechanisms for cross-institutional delivery, and aligning the curriculum with the evolving demands of impact-oriented research in the discipline.
Participants will engage in structured discussions to shape the agenda, share insights from their own institutional contexts, and co-develop a practical framework that could be adopted collectively across Ireland. The goal is to lay the groundwork for a sustained, community-driven initiative that elevates doctoral training in Information Systems nationwide. Whether you supervise PhD students, teach at doctoral level, or are passionate about the future of IS research in Ireland, your voice matters in shaping this initiative. We look forward to building something meaningful together.
The Irish Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (IAIS) especially thanks Innovation Value Institute to enable this discussion at IVI Summit 2026 at Maynooth University.
