DESCRIPTION
This engaging and interactive workshop will introduce participants to the central ideas, principles, strategies, and tools of design thinking and creative problem solving.
Participants will be guided through the design thinking steps as they explore a problem or question from their own life, while also considering how design thinking can be applied in their social work practice.
PRESENTERS
Heather Hopkins, MSW, RSW, PhD is a social worker specializing in supporting people who are navigating periods of change and uncertainty, often applying a design thinking and creative problem solving approach. Heather supports those who are feeling stuck, exploring a new direction, navigating a transition, or addressing the question of ‘what comes next?’. Through her private practice, she offers courses, workshops, and individual sessions.
Alongside her background in social work, research, and education, Heather have received training through the Stanford University Life Design Lab, IDEO U Design Thinking Program, and the British Columbia Career Development Association.
