Yes people! This April Deptford Dub Club will be celebrating it’s 13th birthday with a daytime garden takeover alongside our infamous Rub a Dub Sunday promotions. This will be a family-friendly afternoon in celebration of reggae music and Caribbean culture. For the special occasion we have gathered top tier Deptford Dub Club family – Oxman, Soft Wax, Doc Murdoc, Natty Nick, Duppy Sista Sound, D.D.C. Horns -, plus very special guests, including LEVI ROOTS.
Expect Caribbean food throughout the family friendly session in our spacious garden, Papa Scotchie’s market stool, spring vibes, reggae, rocksteady, and ska. Grab your family and friends for D.D.C.’s birthday!
In addition to this all-round event, the man behind Deptford Dub Club, Mr Soft Wax himself, is putting together a colourful exhibition of ephemera charting the development of the Deptford Dub Club, over the last 13 years. These artifacts go back to the inception of the D.D.C. at the V22 Festival, at the Bermondsey Biscuit Factory in 2012 ( now largely demolished.) Through the years, down by the waterfront, in Deptford, at The Duke – including the original fake leopard skin backdrop. Taking us up to the present, via their 7 year residency at The Fox, notable excursions and support slots.
