Get ready to battle it out across the Central Region in the Dennis Howlett Winter Series ’26 – a 5-round series bringing together riders from Rotorua, Hawke’s Bay, Taupō, Gisborne, and Tauranga.
Whether you're chasing points for your club, building skills over winter, or just keen for some good racing – this series is for you.
📅 Series Dates:
Round 1 – Rotorua | Sun 24 May
Round 2 – Hawke’s Bay | Sun 7 June
Round 3 – Taupō | Sun 21 June
Round 4 – Gisborne | Sun 5 July
Round 5 – Tauranga | Sun 23 August
⏰ Event Schedule:
• Registration: 9:30am – 10:30am
• Practice: 10:30am – 11:30am
• Racing: 12:00pm
💰 Entry Fees:
• Online Entry: $8 (closes Friday before each round)
• On the Day: $10
• Family Max: $30 (on the day only, immediate family)
🏁 Classes:
Striders, Sprockets, Challenge classes, and Mixed Open Wheel (as per BMXNZ rules).
Male & Female classes will run where numbers allow.

• Points earned for your club each round
• Hawke’s Bay = Double Points
• Gisborne = Triple Points 🔥
• Series builds across all rounds – consistency counts!
📡 Transponders:
Required for Mixed Open Wheel classes (some available to loan)
📋 Licence Requirements:
Riders must hold a valid BMX licence (Sprocket, Challenge, Championship, or Island)
