About this Event
Workshop Description
You’ve finally found that perfect sweater. You turn to the instructions, and disaster strikes: Charts.
If you aren’t familiar with knitting charts, those grids of dots, circles, and lines can seem inscrutable. But with a little knowledge and some practice, many knitters come to prefer charted instructions.
In this workshop, I will cover the most common types of charts, common knitting symbols, and tips for using charts effectively.
We will cover flat knitting, knitting-in-the-round, colorwork, and touch on simple lace knitting patterns.
Finally, we will all knit from a chart together! Everyone will be provided with a simple pattern. Some knitting needles and yarn will be provided, but if you have a preference, please bring your own.
Attendees should know how to knit and purl and have some experience knitting from written instructions. The workshop won’t cover how to knit.
Please note we have a sliding scale for tickets for this event! The break down is as follows:
General Admission #1: Covers the cost of workshop and materials
General Admission #2: Covers cost of workshop, materials, and supports the instructor
General Admission #3: Covers cost of workshop, materials, supports the instructor, and helps keep our workshops more accessible
