About this Event
The 2nd annual Heartland Book Festival will take place on October 12 at the Central Library in downtown Kansas City with authors, books, activities, and more! Join us for a food writing workshop in Room 312.
The best food writing can make a reader laugh, cry, and think. It can also inspire them to seek out a new restaurant, travel to exotic places, or make their own dishes at home. Freelance food writer and editor Liz Cook (Serious Eats, BBC Travel, The Pitch, Kansas City Magazine) discusses what it takes to construct a compelling food narrative. She’ll also recommend some of her favorite food memoirs.
The Heartland Book Festival is co-presented by the Kansas City Public Library, Missouri Humanities, and the Missouri Center for the Book.
