About this Event
We'll open the event with questions and concerns about difficult crowd situations, then we'll do a short breathing exercise and learn how to deescalate tense crowds. The end of the event will be used for follow-up thoughts and discussion about other ways we can help our communities.
Coffee, paper and pencils will be available. You'll leave with a deescalation worksheet, and one-pagers on other civic topics will also be available.
Video will be made available post-event.
The Platia is a series of civic trainings in Philly, based on Greek village traditions of solving problems in the town square. We're a mutual aid newsroom that empowers citizens to care for their communities, not just read about it. This event series is made possible by a grant from the Tiny News Collective.
