About this Event
Join Forestry England's New Forest Keeper and Ranger on a walk around New Copse Inclosure near dusk, to catch a glimpse of the enigmatic animals who call it home.
The event will start off at Ivy Wood car park (///mason.decently.emptied) then we'll start our wildlife wander over in New Copse Inclosure.
We will be focusing on the five species of deer that live in the New Forest, particularly the Sika Deer. You will learn the habits and nature of these animals and how the population is managed for conservation.
We will be using a thermal imaging scope to pick out anything we're unable to see in low light, but we recommend you to bring binoculars.
We aim to walk between 3-4 miles on gravel tracks, and some grassy tracks if the weather allows.
Due to the sensitivity of the wildlife we ask that dogs are to be left at home.
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing. Layers advised.
