Learn and practice hand building with fresh clay: techniques to make different shapes, to carve out designs, and how to imprint patterns, as well as the different stages of raw clay and how to work with them. Don’t forget to sign your creations!
During the 2 weeks in between class, your pieces will dry slowly and undergo their first firing: “Bisc firing” at 1945 degrees Farenheit.
Monday, December 16th, 2024
Your pieces are now ready to be glazed and decorated. I provide a nice assortment of glazes and glaze transfers (decals for ceramics) and techniques. Follow your desires, and let your creativity flow!
Final week
Your pieces will go through “Glaze firing”. Et voila, your creations are ready for pick up! You’ll be notified by text or email when they are ready. They will be waiting for you, safely wrapped up on my front porch.

Sliding Scale Pricing
Here’s how you can determine what to pay, considering your financial situation:
If you are experiencing financial constraints (minimum wage, supplemental security income, disability…), consider paying closer to the lower end of the scale ($135).
If you are in a comfortable financial position, consider paying towards the higher end of the scale ($185) to support the sustainability of the classes and allow for those with less means to participate.
Your contribution helps maintain the quality of the classes, ensuring that we can continue to provide all necessary materials and equipment, as well as manage the time-intensive process of preparation and firing.
The sliding scale is designed to create a supportive community where everyone has the opportunity to explore their creativity, regardless of their financial situation.
By choosing an amount that reflects your financial capability, you contribute to a more inclusive and diverse class environment.
