Certificate
This certificate will facilitate your understanding of the grief process, giving you resources and developing tech quests that will enable a positive approach to engaging with those in the grieving process. You will focus on developing an in depth understanding of biblical and spiritual truths when encountering loss and death. You will develop skills that will help you recognize and respond to the needs of others as you walk with them. Upon completion of 6 modules, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Module:
This module will explore various issues at the end of life including ethical decisions that need to
be made, the necessity of a living will, how to say 'good bye', si[ng 'vigil', learning the signs
that the body is shutting down and rituals and beliefs that make a difference. You will learn how
to walk alongside both the individual who is dying and the family as they deal with death and
loss.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand ethical decisions surrounding the end of life
• Learn how to prepare a living will
• Discover how to bring about closure
• Explore different rituals at the end of life
Facilitator: Dr. David Sherbino MPS, STM, D.Min, SCDS, FT.
David is a professor of Pastoral Ministries and Spiritual Formation at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto. He is the minister at Cornerstone Church (PCC) Kleinberg. Professionally he is a Certified
Thanatologist Pastoral Specialist.
Costs
Each module is $135.00 plus administrative fees. $729 for package of 6 modules (plus administrative fees), complete cost for the Death, Dying and Grief Certificate modules with 10% discount. Only available before the start date of the first module.
There is a 10% discount for full-time Tyndale students, alumni and staff. You will need to contact the Tyndale Spiritual Formation Centre to receive a discount code before registering online. Email [email protected] to receive a promo code.
Learning Format
The platform for the live streaming will be Zoom. Once registered and closer to the date, details concerning the format of the module and Zoom link will be sent to you.
Refund Policy
Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of event date, will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 3-6 days before the event, we will offer you a credit for future TSFC events. Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the event may not receive a refund nor a transfer. If TSFC cancels an event under circumstances that would make the event non-viable, registrants will be offered a full refund. When you register for an event, you agree to these terms.
