Gabriele Vajente is a scientist at the LIGO Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology. His specialty is the design and construction of instruments to study our Universe, by detecting Gravitational Waves. Most days, he works with laser and optical systems, new materials to better our mirrors, or computer algorithms that could improve the reach of our detectors.
