DEAF RADIO
Deaf Radio is a modern rock band formed in Athens, Greece, in 2015. Their debut album, Alarm, was released to critical acclaim in 2017, as was their sophomore album, Modern Panic (Nov 2019). Their latest album “Arsenal of Hope” released in November 2022.
Hailed as one of the most exciting rock bands to emerge from Greece in recent memory and having shared bills with the likes of The Killers, The Kills, All Them Witches in Greek and European territory (four continental tours), Deaf Radio honed the sound and feel of their music on the road, live and in-person with thousands of fans.
While its two first albums hovered over hard rock/stoner and psychedelic genres, the band displayed signals of a major shift in aesthetics in its third album. “Arsenal of Hope” is the album that made them sharpen their senses, shape their matured identity, and reinvent themselves in a context of unprecedented change. Social isolation, digital addiction, and lack of human touch are becoming more relevant than ever and constitute the backbone of our third album.
Musically, this is their first attempt to blend electronic beats and synths with heavy guitars and catchy vocals. Combining pure rock energy with a post-disco, dance feel, this album includes some dynamic, anthem-like, sing-along choruses but has a darker, more introvert side as well.
“Arsenal of Hope” captures the unpleasantness of facing modern society’s complex issues. The journey can be long but, in the end, we’ll start blooming. And the ultimate feeling will be liberating.
While the pandemic halted Deaf Radio’s plans for more tours and gigs, the quartet didn't stay idle. During 2021, the band played Exit Festival, Serbia, was invited to Europe’s biggest industry showcase, Eurosonic (ESNS) and won the HEMI Music Awards, a programme co-funded by European Union’s Creative Europe and which involved more than 200 European bands. Also, during the first lockdown, it performed online a down-tempo, "stripped-down" version of 4 of its songs, in the “Reworked session”. The return to live gigs found the band playing alongside Clutch, Hellacopters, Naxatras and touring Greece in festivals and headline shows.
“Alarm” garnered million streams online, while the band’s second creation, “Modern Panic”, left no ear unturned with its sprawling and exhilarating style. The lead single “Astypalea” was included in the "Tracks of the week" section of the legendary Classic Rock Magazine and aired on KEXP Seattle, USA. Currently, both albums' vinyls are sold-out (in the case of Modern Panic, during the first day of its release).
THRÆDS
Multinational Berlin-based progressive / post-metal band THRÆDS are preparing to release their self-produced debut album. ‘Impermanence’ is simultaneously a journey through space-time and the soul. THRÆDS’ sound blends heavy and melodic, bitter and sweet, groove and passion in equal measure. The first singles from the album, ‘Story in Reverse’ and ‘Sole Survivor’, have recently been released.
The five-piece formed in early 2020. Their debut EP ‘Akasha’, released in 2021, was recorded in KAOS Studios Berlin. The EP spawned two singles, ‘Tessera’ and ‘Colorless’, and the band produced accompanying music videos which are available on YouTube. In spring 2022, THRÆDS embarked on a 11-date tour through 7 countries in eastern and central Europe, in support of Lone Survivors (Fr.). The band then settled down to work on their debut album.
