Focused on the New “About Place” Exhibit & Indignous Area renovation
About this Event
ExploreArtSF, formerly known as The Art Enthusiasts Group, invites you to join us for a fun and enriching Art Talk where we’ll visit the De Young’s newest exhibits called “About Place” and the newly renonovated Indigineous Arts Area:
- About Place: Bay Area Artists from Svane Gift: Contemporary artists relating to their environments through place. ‘Place’ as the physical land, ‘place’ as heritage, ‘place’ as the imaginary, and ‘place’ as belonging.
- We will also check out: The new Indigenous area takes a bold new look at the museum’s holdings and adds new works to converse in a dramatic way with us about: “What is indigenous art?”
Afterwards we will head to the café to enjoy lunch together with fellow art lovers!
Where: De Young Museum. Please meet promptly at the Member Desk in the Lobby at 10:30 a.m. Group departing for talk at 10:40 a.m.
When: Saturday, November 15th at 10:30 a.m.
