About this Event
Ward 1 Councilmember Debate
Join the DC Nightlife Council (DCNC) for a community-driven debate featuring the candidates for the Ward 1 City Council seat.
As Ward 1 continues to evolve, the decisions made at the Wilson Building over the next four years will shape the future of our neighborhoods, our local economy, and our quality of life. From public safety and housing to supporting the small businesses and nightlife corridors that define our ward, this is your opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on the issues that matter most.
What to Expect:
- The Debate: A moderated, deep-dive discussion into the most pressing issues facing Ward 1, from public safety and housing to the future of our local economy.
- Candidate Visions: Hear directly from Rashida Brown, Jackie Reyes-Yanes, Miguel Trindade Deramo, Terry Lynch, and Aparna Raj as they share their specific platforms and priorities for the District.
- Meet & Greet: Stick around after the formal debate for a community meet-and-greet. This is your chance to talk one-on-one with the candidates and connect with your neighbors.
- Food & Drinks: Hook Hall will have a menu of food and drinks available for purchase throughout the evening. Come hungry, grab a drink, and support a local Ward 1 venue while you engage in the civic process.
