The DC State Fair is a free showcase of the District’s agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents and a daylong celebration of all things homegrown.
The 15th annual DC State Fair will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10am-5pm and will take place rain or shine. Learn more at www.dcstatefair.org.
Inspired by time-honored state fair traditions—growing and gardening, contests, and delicious foods—the DC State Fair honors the things that make the District of Columbia unique. This means the DC State Fair holds competitions to find the tastiest mumbo sauce, most beautiful paintings and drawings inspired by the District, funkiest looking vegetable, best garden haul and more! Contest registration closes on Friday, August 16, 9 pm. Most contest judging takes place prior to the fair and winners are announced and awarded their ribbons at the fair.
The fair will take place in downtown DC's largest green space, at 1332 I Street NW, Washington, DC 20005. The park is just a 1-minute walk from McPherson Square Metro on the blue, orange, and silver lines and a 6-minute walk from Metro Center station on the red, blue, orange, and silver lines.
Plan Ahead: Pack a reusable water bottle, reusable cutlery, and a shopping bag. The DC State Fair makes a concerted effort to reduce waste, and you can be part of the solution.
