About this Event
Join us for a meaningful day of service as we volunteer at the Greater Chicago Food Depository! During this hands-on Repack Session, we’ll help sort and repackage donated food that will be distributed to pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters across Cook County.

Each person will need to create a profile, accept waiver, and register. It is highly encouraged for everyone to register in advance through GCFD's site: https://volunteers.chicagosfoodbank.org/registrations/7XLRO0yqOg/claim_spot
Getting there: Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early for your Repack session so GCFD can begin right on time with a brief orientation. Let us know if you plan to arrive late, volunteers will only be accepted 20 minutes past the start time.
Once you arrive, you will check-in in the main lobby, and from there you will be guided to our volunteer locker area and orientation room.
Parking: Free parking for volunteers is available. There are over 300 parking spots available for all volunteers, visitors, and Food Depository staff. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. You may also use street parking on Karlov Ave. and Ann Lurie Place, next to the Food Depository.
Attire: Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and shirts that cover your shoulders.Additional FAQs can be found here.
