Biographie

Der 2001 geborene georgische Pianist David Khrikuli gilt als einer der eindrucksvollsten Pianisten seiner Generation. Seine Aufführungen wurden von Presse und Publikum besonders für ihre ausdrucksvolle Tiefe und strukturelle Klarheit Dynamik vielseitig gelobt.

Er ist zudem Preisträger mehrerer internationaler Wettbewerbe. 2024 gewann er den Ersten Preis bei der Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition (Italien) und den Ersten und Publikumspreis bei der  Vigo International Piano Competition (Spanien). Sein Auftritt bei der 2025 bei der Chopin International Piano Competition wurde von Jury und Publikum auch über sein Ergebnis des Wettbewerbs (Finalist) hinaus gelobt. Zu seinen frühen Erfolgen zählen außerdem der Erste und Sonderpreis bei dern Aarhus International Competition (Dänemark), der Erste Preis bei der Tbilisi Chopin National Piano Competition (Georgien), sowie weitere Auszeichnungen Nutcracker International TV Competition (Russland), Astana Piano Passion (Kazakhstan) und der Arthur Rubinstein International Competition for Young Pianists (China).

Seine Ausbildung begann David Khrikuli an der Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children bei Revaz Tavadze, später studierte er bei Galina Eguiazarova und Stanislav Ioudenitch an der Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. Zudem wurde er mit einem Stipendium der Stiftungen Jaime Castellanos und Albéniz, hatte den Banco Santander Foundation Piano Chair inne und wurde 2022 mit dem Diploma for the Most Outstanding Student der Königin Sofía von Spanien ausgezeichnet.

Als Solist trat Herr Khrikuli mit dem Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra, der Israel Camerata und Philharmonic sowie der Moscow Philharmonic auf. Darüber hinaus konzertierte sowie europaweit als Solist und Kammermusiker. An der Reina Sofía School trat er im Rahmen von Konzertreihen wie La Generación Ascendente in Madrid und AIEnRUTa-Clásicos  in Albacete auf und konzertierte mit dem Schumann Trio, Ravel Duo und dem Austrias Trio.

Aktuell gibt Herr Khrikuli ein Konzertreise durch Polen und tritt dabei in Toruń, Kraków und Poznań auf, außerdem stehen Konzerte mit dem National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, dem National Forum of Music in Wrocław und der Kraków Philharmonic auf dem Programm. Im vergangenen Herbst spielte er erneut auf Mallorca,  im Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid und gab sein Debüt in Berlin.

Herr Khrikuli schlägt derzeit eine beträchtliche internationale Karriere ein und gehört zu den vielversprechendsten Pianisten seiner Generation.

Biography

Born in Georgia in 2001, pianist David Khrikuli is rapidly emerging as one of the most compelling voices of his generation. His performances have drawn exceptional attention for their expressive depth, luminous structural clarity, and rare command of dynamics.

A laureate of numerous international contests, Khrikuli won First Prize at the 2024 Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition (Italy) and First and Audience Prizes at the Vigo International Piano Competition (Spain). He was also a finalist at the 2025 Chopin International Piano Competition, where his performances captivated both jury and audience, earning acclaim that extended beyond the competition results. Earlier distinctions include First Prize and Special Prize at the Aarhus International Competition (Denmark), First Prize at the Tbilisi Chopin National Piano Competition (Georgia), and awards at the Nutcracker International TV Competition (Russia), Astana Piano Passion (Kazakhstan), and the Arthur Rubinstein International Competition for Young Pianists (China).

He began his piano studies at the Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children in Tbilisi under Revaz Tavadze and later trained with Galina Eguiazarova and Stanislav Ioudenitch at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. He was awarded scholarships from the Jaime Castellanos and Albéniz Foundations, held the Banco Santander Foundation Piano Chair, and in 2022 received the Diploma for the Most Outstanding Student of his chair from Her Majesty Queen Sofía.

Khrikuli has appeared as a soloist with the Georgian Philharmonic, the Israel Camerata and Philharmonic, and the Moscow Philharmonic, and has given solo and chamber performances throughout Europe. At the Reina Sofía School, he was featured in concert series such as La Generación Ascendente (Madrid) and AIEnRUTa-Clásicos (Albacete), and performed with the Schumann Trio, Ravel Duo, and Austrias Trio.

Currently, Khrikuli is touring Poland with performances in Toruń, Kraków, and Poznań, and has upcoming appearances with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, National Forum of Music in Wrocław, and Kraków Philharmonic. He will also return to Mallorca and to the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid and make his debut in Berlin.

Poised for a flourishing international career, Khrikuli is a musical force to be reckoned with.
