He tours frequently across Canada and Europe (Glastonbury Festival x7) and is quoted as "One of Toronto's best guitar players” by CBC Radio. David's music has consistently appeared on the CBC, BBC and WNYC in New York. Even the late Gordon Lightfoot was a fan.
David's reputation as a guitarist has led him to play with many local Canadian artists in their bands, including legendary Alt-Country/folk singers Ian & Sylvia Tyson and acts diverse as Icelandic alt/pop star Emiliana Torrini. He's supported shows for Elvis Costello, Badly Drawn Boy, Fairport Convention, Ron Sexsmith, Martha Wainwright, Kiefer Sutherland + more. He’s also had the pleasure of meeting and playing music with the late great Pete Seeger. Some career Highlights include mega jam with Cristophe Lindemann of Kadavar at Duna Jam, Performing at Trafalgar Square, London for Canada Day (2025) and many more.
His latest single is entitled “Wake Up Again” came out recently and he’s currently in the process of recording the next album at a studio in Wales (Penylan) and Toronto (Revolution). David and drummer Clifford Rutherford will be joined by David’s two sons Marcus and Lucas on Bass and second Guitar for their next tour this spring throughout Europe/UK, including shows at England’s Small World & Great Escape festivals. Together, they sing catchy, “Feel good but think” Canadiana style songs with 3-part Beatlesque/Byrds style harmonies plus open musical improvisations.
