Jazz, psychedelic, orchestral experimental, folk-rock, blues... Dave covers all genres and breaks through the very concept of genres. His originals with lyrics careen through the universe of styles with deep insight, poetry, and truth. He has played with such luminaries as Brian Blade, Jim Singleton, Charlie Byrd, Dr. John, Coco Robicheaux, Cyril Neville, Joni Mitchell, Colonel Bruce Hampton, George Porter, Peter Rowan, Ruthie Foster (on her Grammy nominated, Let It Burn), Howard Levy, Bill Kreutzman of the Grateful Dead, Jeff Matika of Green Day, and Jerry Jemmott.
Two of Dave’s recent releases are the instrumental album Byways of the Moon, which received a positive review on NPR and was selected “Best Jazz on Bandcamp” for January 2022, and Easley Rider, an album of Dave’s original songs with lyrics, featuring the rhythm section from the Iguanas along with Kass Krebs and the late, great, Alfred Uganda Roberts.
Tickets are $20 general admission. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.
Doors open 30 minutes before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. The venue is ADA accessible. If you need more information or have any questions, please call us: #510-381-1997.
