About this Event
This is the second event of the series 'Data Lifecycle...Ingestion to Insights' and we'll focus on Data Curation. The presentation will be done by Sarah Usher and our guest speaker is Serena Yuen.
Sarah is the Senior Data and Backend Engineer at Snyk. She has worked previously as a Data Engineering Tech Lead at Unruly. Sarah has been working with Data Systems, Data Products and Reporting Tools for 10+ years and she will share from her experience examples, as well as presenting the fundamentals of data ingestion and curation.
Our goal is to clarify technical concepts for everyone to understand and be able to apply the knowledge in practice.
For more business use cases, we are delighted to have Serena Yuen talk about this topic in more depth. Serena is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Dataiku who enables enterprise customers to accelerate their data initiatives and deliver key business results. Since joining the company in 2020, after working for several years at Dell Technologies, she has extensive experience working with clients across industries and with different data maturities. Serena believes that a key component in realizing value from data projects is to make data science and data analytics accessible to all teams, and loves helping her customers along this journey. After graduating from Imperial College London with a degree in Physics, where roughly 20% of her class were females, Serena became a STEM Ambassador, passionate about inspiring girls to pursue studies or careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math/Medicine), and breaking down the stereotypes of what is needed for women to be successful in a career in tech and data. Most recently, she was a key organizer for a Women in Data Science event in London celebrating the impact of data across healthcare, responsible AI and social impact.
