About this Event

Join Pompey Darkroom for a relaxed, beginner-friendly introduction to darkroom printing. This session focuses on learning how to use enlargers and create prints from your negatives, with an emphasis on experimentation, curiosity, and hands-on discovery.

Led by facilitator and photographer Thomas Betts, the workshop begins with a short recap of the previous session before introducing the fundamentals of darkroom printing.

During the session, you will:

Learn how to set up and use an enlarger
Understand the chemical process and safe handling procedures
Create a contact sheet from your negatives
Experiment with test strips to control exposure
Produce your own black & white prints

All materials will be provided. Please wear practical clothing suitable for a workshop environment.

This workshop is for adults 18+ and there are very limited spaces.

Please note that this workshop is delivered in two parts. Attending both workshops is optional although advised for continuity. The second workshop will take place on Saturday 16 May and can be booked here
