West Coast-born singer-songwriter Daniel Nickels has been captivating audiences in Oregon and beyond since 2016 with his unique blend of rockin' Americana. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Jason Isbell, John Mayer, Tom Petty, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the Zac Brown Band, Daniel has crafted a sound that resonates with the essence of Americana and country, infused with soulful Southern rock influences.
Daniel’s music journey began around the campfire, where his father’s guitar playing sparked his passion for music. He honed his craft under the mentorship of Dr. John Clark, the same instructor who guided Katy Perry. His versatile musicianship allows him to weave emotionally charged lyrics with intricate instrumentals, playing everything from acoustic guitar and piano to ukulele and harmonica.
Daniel’s dedication to his craft has led him to collaborate with Grammy-winning producer Dave Hagen at the renowned Dark Horse Recording Studios in Tennessee. This partnership has elevated his music, with recent works drawing comparisons to the likes of Zac Brown and Jason Isbell. His powerful vocals, ranging from soulful low tones to gorgeous falsettos, combined with his band’s tight roots-rock interplay, make for an unforgettable live experience.
Daniel’s commitment to his community is equally impressive. He’s used his music to support charitable causes, including raising awareness for breast cancer with his song "The Answer" and commemorating the impact of the Alameda fires with "Get There Together."
