About this Event
Dance Connection: Freestyling to Friendship
2-Day Program: Building Strong Friendships
Day 1:
Dance Workshop
Join us for an exciting day of movement and creativity! We'll engage in fun dance games that emphasize creativity, cooperation, and collaboration. Together, we'll choreograph short dance routines centered around the theme of friendship. We'll also work as a team to design and create "Freestyling to Friendship" bandanas, symbolising our understanding of being a good friend and celebrating the new friendships formed.
Day 2:
Putting Skills into Practice
On the second day, we'll continue to strengthen our friendships by participating in more collaborative dance activities. To end the program, we'll attend a performance of The Gruffalo at the State Theatre Centre of WA.
You will:
1. Understand and experience the benefits dance can have physically, emotionally and socially.
2. Learn how to work creatively, cooperatively and collaboratively within a safe and supportive environment.
3. Learn and practice how to be a "good friend" (active listening, respect & kindness etc)
4. Develop social skills and make friendships with others who enjoy dance.
