Danakil Heat is a groovy stoner band from Helsinki formed in 2022. Beyond stoner metal, the band is influenced by a variety of genres, such as garage rock, psychedelic, groove metal, grunge, hardcore and punk. The band’s music is a raw collision of urgency and uplift, where heavy, post-apocalyptic atmospheres meet moments of radiant hope. The band calls their sound “apocalyptic optimism”, a paradox that captures both the unease of a world on the edge and the sparks of resilience that refuse to die out.
Following their debut Back to the Fire (released Feb 22, 2025), Danakil Heat returns with a sharper, fuzzier, and faster sound on their new 3-track EP Doomsday Delight (released Sep 26, 2025). Across its songs Doomsday Delight, One More Life, and Searching the Stars, the band expands their palette with high-energy riffs and doom-tinged textures while keeping their light-hearted spirit intact.
Lyrically, the EP draws from dystopian futures, cosmic imagery, and escapist dreams, embodying the band’s signature ethos of apocalyptic optimism. Reminding listeners that even in the shadow of doomsday, there’s beauty, resistance, and joy to be found.
Doomsday Delight will be available on all major streaming platforms.
The band is Joonas Pyykönen (drums), Shaun (vocals), Timm Mörstedt (guitar, backing vocals) and Olli Vainikainen (bass).

3rd TRIP
3rd Trip will release their second full-length album in 2026.
Formed in 2011, the band has been diligently working on the follow-up to their debut album Scale of Confusion (Sound-Effect Records, 2017) since the early, uncertain days of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
The album will see the light of day in early 2026, and at this show you’ll get to hear a substantial portion of new material along with a few old classics.
