We are continuing our traditional "two presenter eventer" format, and asking two seasoned Data Management professionals to come and present their topics.

Info: One of the main challenges with Power BI / Fabric administration is managing Workspace permissions & ensuring appropriate access controls are in-place. With Workspaces, EDIT rights are co-bundled with access management, allowing users with Edit rights to add others.

Fabric tenants typically devolve from Workspaces with a few well defined Entra-ID groups at the start, into a random people & groups with inconsistent or unexplained permissions months down the line.

With the upgrade from Power BI Premium SKUs to Microsoft Fabric, comes the ability to use Semantic Link functions in Fabric Notebooks, which allows for programmatic modification of environments right inside the Fabric web-client, providing admins with a way to manage Fabric as Infrastructure As Code.
