Overview
Join Mountain Leader Jonathan from Where2Walk for the Dales 30 Guided Weekender — a two-day hiking adventure exploring some of the highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Based in Kirkby Stephen, this weekend offers the perfect balance of challenge, scenery, and sociable adventure. Over two days, you’ll summit four of the famous “Dales 30” mountains — the collection of Yorkshire Dales summits standing over 2,000 ft (610 m).
Expect big views, rolling ridges, expert navigation, and great company.
Weekend Itinerary
Friday Evening – Optional Pub Meet-Up
Settle in and meet your fellow walkers for an informal drink and chat in Kirkby Stephen before the hiking begins.
Saturday – Sails & High Seat
Start: 9:30 am, Aisgill Moor
Climb to Sails on Lunds Fell, then follow the grassy ridge past Hugh Seat and Gregory Chapel to High Seat, the highest summit in the northern Dales. Return via The Riggs for sweeping Mallerstang Valley views.
Sunday – Wild Boar Fell & Swarth Fell
Start: 9:30 am, Hazelgill
Ascend the dramatic plateau of Wild Boar Fell, famous for its limestone cliffs and summit cairns, then continue to Swarth Fell for panoramic views across the Howgills and beyond.
