Daddy and Me: Bonding for dad's and children with Special/Support Needs

This Daddy & Me event is a free, in-person, play-based bonding experience designed especially for fathers and father-figures with children who have special/support needs.

Held in our full-sized gym, this event creates a relaxed, supportive environment where dads can spend meaningful time with their kiddos and connect with other families in the community.

What families can expect:

• A variety of open play opportunities, including:
• • Imaginative art activities
  • Basketball court access with basketballs for free play
  • Fun obstacle courses designed for kids of all abilities
• A resource table with information and supports for families
• Snacks and bottled water available throughout the event
• A chance to build positive memories and connections in a fun, relaxed setting

Staff support at the event includes:

• Encouraging and supporting parent–child engagement
• Helping dads connect with one another
• Offering a friendly, listening ear for questions or emotional support
• Helping families discover local resources and supports that may be helpful

This event is about connection, growth, and joy — giving dads intentional space to play, laugh, and engage with their children while fostering community and support around the shared journey of parenting children with special needs.
