Come and Join us on the Banks of the River Mersey at Fort Perch Rock for our WW2 History Tours - The Road to D-Day From New Brighton to Normandy
Step back in time to the days of Wartime and hear about what life was like on the British Homefront in preparation for the assaults on Europe leading up to D-Day in June 1944
You will learn about local Rationing, The Dig for Victory Campaign, The Blitz, Ladies and their new duties, Evacuation, The US Army, German Spies, The AA Guns at the Red Noses, The Maunsell Forts in the River Mersey, War Dances at the Tower Ballroom & So Much More
You will be visiting all the old sites and shown photographs on how changes have occurred from then to now.
Your adventure begins at our 19th Century defence Battery ‘Fort Perch Rock’ in the Mess Quarters Cafe and you will hear about the History of the Fort
Pop in for a Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate before the Tour starts or a bite to eat. We can also reserve a table for after the Tour finishes where further talks on history will continue with our Historian & Author. Titanic Rarebit and Pizzas available on the Menu or Afternoon Tea with Cream Scones and Jam.
