Purchase a portion of fish and chips at The Strawberry Pig (who will be opening up from 12pm - 2pm on the day of the event), then step back in time with Poynton Town Council and enjoy your lunch with a cup of tea to raise money for D-Day charities.
The Council Chamber will be themed on the 1940's, with music, mismatched crockery, doilies and embroidered tablecloths. You can donate for a cup of tea (or three!) with your chip lunch, enjoy some cake and company and even sample some sweet ration recipes. There will be information available to read about the D-Day 80 commemorations.
The Royal British Legion will also be in attendance, ready for conversation and also selling commemorative D-Day 80 badges.
