State of HER Emergency is a one-day summit created for women on the Eastern Shore who are navigating leadership, caregiving, visibility, and survival in rural communities where resources are limited, systems are stretched, and support is often harder to access.Grounded in the lived experiences of women across the lower shore, this urgent gathering creates space for honest conversations around housing instability, women’s health, leadership under pressure, and the often-unspoken penalties tied to womanhood in rural settings. These are not abstract issues; they are happening here, in our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and homes.
Through storytelling, and community dialogue, attendees are invited to name the weight they carry and connect to pathways toward action, advocacy, and collective care. This summit is about seeing ourselves reflected, sharing what we know, and strengthening the networks that sustain women and families on the Shore.
State of HER Emergency is both a reflection of where our community stands — and a call for women to respond together.
