CZECH CHRISTMAS MARKET 2025
‘Tis the season to be jolly! The Embassy of the Czech Republic invites you to its annual Czech Christmas Market on November 8, 2025, from 9 am to 6 pm. We look forward to bringing you the magic of the season.
Browse stands filled with beautiful hand-crafted ornaments, Bohemian garnet and glass jewelry, fine art photography, books & prints, decadent chocolates, Moravian wines and traditional liquors. Savor gingerbread and beer from the Pilsen region. Enjoy the taste and smell of mulled wine as well as an assortment of delicious Czech pastries and cuisine.
Adore the array of live animals for selfies. Listen to a live band, as well as children of American Sokol Washington, DC, and Slavic American Sokol performing Czech Christmas carols. Watch a puppet theatre performance and participate in a workshop.

No large bags are allowed. Small purses may be checked as you pass through security for entrance. RSVP confirmation and photo ID required. No pets allowed.
Parking: Limited non-metered parking is available on Spring of Freedom Street and Tilden Street.
Closest Metro: The Embassy is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Van Ness Metro Station.

ALFA Theatre: Workshops & Show - Mr. Kašpar and His Jolly Family
From the Pilsen Region, Alfa Theatre is one of the Czech Republic’s leading puppet companies, known for its sixty-year tradition and global acclaim. In Mr. Kašpar and His Jolly Family, the mischievous Kašpárek and Kalupinka navigate the chaos of parenthood with their baby, dog Hafík, and friend. This lively glove-puppet show blends modern humor with classic Czech puppetry, delighting audiences of all ages. The theatre will also have workshops for children throughout the day.

European Trading Company |
The European Trading Company imports hundreds of handmade Christmas glass ornaments from the Czech Republic. The company hand selects its collections from designers and artisans with centuries old skills and traditions of fine glass blowing and decorating, following the latest trends. Since 1994, the family business has imported millions of ornaments to the United States.
Granát Turnov
Granát, an art jewelry cooperative, is the manufacturer of breathtaking designs, incorporating Bohemian garnets, which are stones known for their unique deep red color. Located in Turnov, these stones, prized by royalty since the Middle Ages, can only be found in the Czech Republic. Extracted Bohemian garnets are sorted manually and only the highest quality gems are used for the production of jewelry. The cooperative, founded in 1953, has created exclusive presents for, among others, King Charles, President Obama, Madeleine Albright, Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI. Heart of Bohemia represents Granát Turnov in the United States.

Heart of Bohemia is an importer and retailer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, specializing in authentic handmade items from the Czech Republic. The company offers a variety of crafts with a particular focus on traditional Bohemian garnet jewelry and mouth-blown glass Christmas ornaments from the Czech company Decor by Glassor. These hand painted ornaments feature Czech artist Josef Lada in the designs for this year’s collection. Heart of Bohemia also offers hand-decorated chicken and goose eggs created by traditional technique artist Zdeňka Kuncová.

Umělecké Zvonařství Dytrychová specializes in the manufacture and artistic design of bronze bells as well as candle sticks, paperweights and other products. Founded in 1950, the foundry continues the family’s crafting tradition to produce harmonic and resonant tones, winning awards and even high recognition by the Czech President. Its bells have been exported to all corners of the world and were gifted to Pope John Paul II.

Robinson’s Fine Prints is an art gallery in the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, Harrisburg, PA, selling original prints from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Prints by Czech artists from the past 100 years dominate the store’s collection of more than 1,500 artworks. R. Jelínek
R. Jelínek, is a producer of Jelinek Slivovitz, a national brand and plum brandy originating from the Plum Valley in the Czech Republic. Other than creating one of the most iconic spirits in the world R. Jelinek also specializes in the creation of Pear Williams Brandy, Bohemia Apricot Brandy, Cherry Liqueur as well as a variety of many other spirits and liqueurs. Established by the Jelínek family in 1894, the privately owned company continues to adhere to its tradition of kosher distillery production. Exporting the popular brandy to the United States since 1934, it currently distributes in over 35 different states.
Becherovka

The Frederick County Sheep Breeders is a Maryland-based sheep and goat producers’ association. Its purpose is to promote as well as to educate the public regarding sheep, goat and lamb activities in Maryland.
Whispering Meadows Alpaca Breeders
Whispering Meadows Alpaca Breeders is a family run business with a successful 4H program educating youth on alpacas and agriculture. It will be selling wool and alpaca stockings, hats, figurines, and other items. Lambs, goats, and alpacas will be on hand for selfies and cuddles.
