Optimize your body’s innate healing abilities. With this essential guide, readers will learn how to optimize their health and alleviate symptoms for greater vitality and well-being.
Dr. Cynthia Li, MD, author of Brave New Medicine, offers powerful, science-informed practices to overcome chronic illness, anxiety, and stress—so you can reclaim your energy and live with greater vitality.
Are you one of the millions who suffer from chronic illness? Have you tried everything—conventional or alternative—only to find that you still aren’t healing? Do you struggle daily with anxiety, stress, or overwhelm? If so, you aren’t alone. If you’re looking for lasting relief, this empowering guide offers a cutting-edge, holistic, and synergistic approach to healing—one that works with your body rather than against it.
In this highly anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed memoir Brave New Medicine, Dr. Li shows you how to cultivate embodied flow—an inner state of physiological coherence, harmony, and energy efficiency essential for optimal health. Drawing from modern science alongside time-tested methods for healing—such as the ancient Chinese movement practice of qigong—she reveals how coherence can activate your body’s peak healing capacity and help you thrive amid life's inevitable challenges.
This book shows you how to support your physical and mental health while doing less, not more. As your body returns to a state of coherence, you’ll begin to feel the radical effects of embodied flow, and use this inner state to find lasting health and harmony.
CYNTHIA LI, MD, is a board-certified physician, and doctor of integrative and functional medicine in Northern California. She is also a certified teacher in qigong, an ancient mind-body practice, and leads workshops for individual and collective healing. Her earlier work centered on public health, with a focus on HIV/AIDS and underserved communities. She served on the faculty of Rachel Naomi Remen’s Healer’s Art program at UCSF Medical School, which enables medical students to discover their sense of calling and service. She is author of the breakthrough self-help memoir, Brave New Medicine.
