MEETING POINT at the CWGC war graves plot. From the entrance, proceed passed the chapel and follow the signs for the crematorium, the site is down the hill.

Bath Haycombe Cemetery contains 290 burials of the Second World War, most of them in the war graves plot.

The plot was used by the Royal Air Force as a regional cemetery and contains the graves of airmen serving with the Commonwealth and allied air forces stationed in the south-western counties. Alongside these graves are those of men who served in squadrons of Coastal Command in their work of patrol, searching for U-boats and providing convoy for shipping. Many of the casualties came from the RAF station at Colerne.

Bath suffered heavily from attacks by German aircraft and a severe air raid in April 1942 killed a number of servicemen at home on leave with their families. They are buried with them in the cemetery. In addition to the Commonwealth war graves, the cemetery contains a number of war graves of other nationalities.

The tour lasts approx. 90 mins and covers about 500 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes.

There is ample parking available beyond the war grave plots at the crematorium, but please do be aware that services may be taking place. Alternatively parking is available at the chapel by the entrance and the war graves plots are a short 3-4 minute walk down hill.

There are no facilities or toilets on site. Please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Dogs are not allowed in the cemetery.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
