Movimientos invites you to Cumbia de los Muertos – a celebration of the cycle of life and death with music, good vibes, and community at the Fox and Firkin.
Rooted in the ancestral Mexican tradition of welcoming back our departed loved ones, the party will be a transcendent night of music and dancing with hypnotic cumbia, tropical beats, and ritual rhythms.
Join us in a vibrant party where the living and the departed mingle, borders fade, and London’s Latin American community – and everyone who wants to join – can find a piece of home, community, and belonging con cumbia y amor.
With Malphino delivering a fiery live set, and Gypsy Box, Lady Avocado and La Curandera behind the decks, prepare for an electric night of connection and pure fiesta pa’bailar.
Line up:
Live, mystical band Malphino conjure hypnotic cumbia and tropical dreamscapes – it’s cumbia, but not as you know it, serving up Mexican-Colombian influences with a psychedelic twist. On the decks, Mexico’s own Gypsy Box fires up the Balkan-Cumbia beats that have lit up dancefloors across Europe for over 10 years. Colombian vinyl queen Lady Avocado brings her signature picotera soundsystem energy fusing Latin and Afro-Caribbean sounds, including salsa, bullerengue y más. Guatemala-born La Curandera guides us into a ritual journey where ancestral rhythms and electronic textures meet in collective ceremony, transporting dancers into a “cumbia dimension”
