This November at Culture Club we are getting ready to welcome in winter, with longer nights and colder days.Rachel Dobbs (Community Builder) and Vicky Putler(The Flax Project) will be leading the group in a willow lantern-making exercise, helping us light the way for our upcoming winter events such as the village square light switch on (29th November) and the wassail in early January. It's perfect for absolute beginners and family groups - you don't need any special skills to take part. Lantern making can be MESSY, so please wear old clothes or bring an apron with you. All materials and equipment are provided.
As Culture Club is full of keen makers, we have been tasked with creating and decorating baubles for the Village Square Christmas tree from some upcycled materials from the Plymouth Scrapstore and the natural environment.
For your gift-giving needs, we will be creating our own gift tags using a die cutter, plus decorating wrapping paper and cards with ink stamps or your own drawings by hand. There will be materials for everyone to take part and take home, as well as craft tasks for even the littlest hands to join in with too.
To keep us warm, we will have a delicious soup to share. Please bring along bread to dip or nibbly finger bits for the food-sharing table.
Culture Clubs are monthly events that involve food, crafts, and arts and are themed around seasonality and culture.
They are FREE to attend for Village Hub Members who live in Stoke and Morice Town. Donations are welcome from other visitors.
