The first concert of our 2025-2026 season opens in a dramatic way with Franz Liszt's dark and brooding symphonic poem depicting Shakespeare's powerful tragedy Hamlet. We’re delighted to be joined by Simon Callaghan, one of the UK’s most prominent pianists, as our soloist for Beethoven’s perennially popular Piano Concerto No. 3. The second half of the concert features another firm favourite, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a work full of rich harmonies and thoroughly good tunes.
